Temptation rarely arrives announcing itself. It whispers relief, promises pleasure, and quietly steers us toward the edge.

In Restraint and Freedom, R. D. Norman shows why self-control is not cold legalism, but a grace-fuelled path to real freedom. With Scripture-shaped clarity and vivid imagery, this book helps you recognise your triggers, build wise defences, and cultivate habits that starve sin rather than feed it.

Most importantly, it fixes your eyes on Christ—tempted as we are, yet without sin—and on the Holy Spirit, who strengthens weary fighters with fresh resolve.

If you’re tired of the cycle—resolve, relapse, regret—this is a call to take up your armour again. Restraint is not the enemy of joy. It is the doorway to it.

Forged in the turmoil of the English Civil War, the Westminster Shorter Catechism (completed 22 November 1647; authorised 1648) distils Reformed Christianity into 107 crisp Q&As—beginning with the timeless claim that our ‘chief end is to glorify God, and to enjoy Him for ever.’ Intended as a clear primer ‘for new beginners,’ it soon became far more: Scotland’s parish-school textbook, the fireside manual of English Non-conformists, and the doctrinal spine of Presbyterianism. Four centuries on, churches throughout the Reformed tradition still turn to its concise theology and pastoral wisdom to anchor worship, shape discipleship, and guard ‘the faith once delivered to the saints.’

Utilising the 1647 and 1648 editions of The Westminster Shorter Catechism ('The Humble Advice of the Assembly of Divines, Now by Authority of Parliament sitting at Westminster, Concerning A Shorter Catechism:  with the Proofs thereof out of the Scriptures. Presented by them lately to both Houses of Parliament.'). This copy, like the original, contains The Ten Commandments, The Lord's Prayer, and the Apostles' Creed.

Standing for Orthodoxy celebrates the life and legacy of Peter Barnes, aptly described as ‘one of Australia’s ablest defenders of theological orthodoxy,’ whose tireless dedication to Scripture, pastoral care, and historical theology has profoundly impacted generations within the global Reformed community. Spanning pastoral, historical, biblical, and systematic theology, the essays within this volume reflect the diverse yet unified commitment of Barnes’s ministry—to uphold biblical orthodoxy in a changing world.

Contributions from esteemed Australian and international scholars and pastors—such as Joel R. Beeke, Michael A. G. Haykin, Jared Hood, John McClean, Carl R. Trueman, Geoffrey Thomas, and Rowland S. Ward—engage crucial questions of pastoral care, confessional integrity, historical interpretation, and theological fidelity. From discussions on the Early Church Fathers and John Calvin, to explorations of Abraham Kuyper, A.W. Pink, and contemporary issues facing the church today, these essays illustrate the rich interplay between historical depth and practical pastoral insight.

This volume serves as both a tribute and an urgent call, reminding readers of the enduring necessity of standing firmly for biblical truth, the power of historical theology to inform contemporary challenges, and the essential role of the pastor-scholar in guiding God’s people toward faithfulness in every generation.

In Too Small, Craig Biehl tackles the claims of atheism with a blend of humour and penetrating insight, exposing the overconfidence of those who claim to disprove God. Biehl scrutinises their arguments, demonstrating that the finite human mind cannot fathom the infinite God. Through respectful yet incisive critique, he reveals the inconsistencies and blind faith inherent in atheistic assertions. This compelling book not only defends the Christian faith but also challenges readers to embrace intellectual humility and the grandeur of divine revelation.

Selected Endorsements:

  • “This is a marvelous book. I have often thought, there must be a God: how else do you explain Bach’s Passacaglia or Brahms’ Requiem? Dr. Biehl’s refutations of atheism are air-tight. Despite the rumors, atheism is alive and well, especially in the West. This book hits atheism head on but with a carefully laid-out counter argument. Dr. Biehl exposes hidden assumptions and gift-wrapped evidence in order to highlight a biblical alternative. Not only, as the title declares, is atheism too small, but it is actually counterproductive. This book deserves a wide reading.”
    • Dr. William Edgar | Professor Emeritus of Apologetics, Westminster Theological Seminary, Pennsylvania, USA.
  • “Having been involved in debating and discussing with atheists and agnostics for many years, there is one flaw in their argument which is so obvious that it is usually ignored. Not by Craig Biehl, who in this rather brilliant book points out why the grand presumption of atheism is false. The presumption that human beings have the ability to sit in judgement upon God is the great falsehood which Biehl exposes. It’s not the lack of evidence that is the problem—it’s a person’s inability to evaluate that evidence. Biehl then goes on to deal with the main arguments against (‘disproofs’) the existence of God—including philosophical, moral, and ‘biblical’ objections. This is a short, serious, and substantial book—which I wish I had had when I first took on the new fundamentalist atheists!”
    • David Robertson | Author, The Dawkin Letters
  • “Craig Biehl masterfully turns the table on atheists by attacking the very foundation of their belief system. Biehl doesn’t get sidetracked by answering all the objections of atheists. Neither does he seek to prove God’s existence based on accepting the presuppositions of atheists. Instead, Biehl pulls the rug from underneath atheists by exposing that they are in no position to claim that they know what they think they know.”
    • Dr. Jeffrey D. Johnson | President, Grace Bible Theological Seminary, Arkansas, USA.

It’s always exciting to see Australian Christian publishers invest in children’s books. God is: Holy is the first book in Tulip Publishing’s, Little Theologian Books (Yay!). It is written and illustrated by Jessica Scott and is a theologically dense picture book with potential beyond the ‘children’s book’ shelves.
